The Pet Industry Business Awards was created with one simple belief: the businesses caring for our pets deserve to be recognised by the people who trust them every day.
For many of us, pets are family. We celebrate their birthdays, worry when they’re unwell and trust others to care for them as if they were their own. Whether it’s a groomer who always knows how to settle a nervous dog, a veterinary team that’s there through life’s biggest moments, a riding instructor who helps horse and rider grow in confidence or a cattery where your cat feels completely at home, these relationships are built on something incredibly valuable.

Yet despite the incredible work happening in communities across the country, there has never been a dedicated awards programme focused on celebrating the local businesses that earn that trust every single day.
That’s where PIBA began.
The pet industry is built by passionate local businesses. From independent groomers and trainers to veterinary teams, pet retailers, boarding facilities, charities and specialist care providers, these businesses become part of our communities through exceptional care, genuine relationships and an unwavering commitment to the animals they look after.
We wanted to create an awards programme that reflects the way the pet industry really works.
Not through expensive entries or decisions made behind closed doors, but through the voices of the people who matter most: the customers who experience that care first-hand.
Every nomination begins with a real story. A recommendation from someone whose life has been made a little easier, happier or more enjoyable because of a business that genuinely cares.
It’s the customer whose dog can’t wait to run through the daycare doors. The cat owner who never worries while they’re away because they know their pet is in safe hands.
